Orthopedic (joint) massage
Is an effective and natural means to restore lost function by addressing the soft tissues surrounding the joint through manipulation and mobilization. The focus is on rehabilitation to reduce pain and dysfunction. Restoring structural balance throughout the body allows focus on both prevention and rehabilitation of musculoskeletal dysfunctions.
Is the means to restore lost range of motion, function, decrease pain, and break down scar tissue while improving circulation to the surgery (trauma) site.
When the soft tissue muscles and other supported tissue (tendons, ligaments, fascia, connective tissue and muscles) are disturbed, the nerve root becomes inflamed and irritated. Whiplash, thoracic outlet syndrome, neuralgia (numbness and tingling) are some symptoms of this disturbance in the soft tissue. By manipulating the tissues with massage range of motion is increased as well as function and circulation. Massage decompressing the nerve bundles which allows the tissue to respond and heal naturally.
With massage therapy a natural protocol of treatment care can be managed for pain, decreasing the pain receptors and reeducating the nerve fibers in the muscles.
Lactic acid is a natural occurring bi-product of muscle waste with exertion. Accumulation can create pain and dysfunction. Injury can occur because of exertion, incorrect body mechanics or trauma. Massage Therapy can remedy these aliments with effective means of recovery as well as prevention.
Medical massage therapy addresses the disturbance of the nerve root within the muscle and other soft tissue helping to to restore function and range of motion. It also allows the elimination of toxins and inflammation that occurs as the result of trauma. By addressing the trauma in the soft tissue you allow normal function and patterns to return. Medical massage therapy is an effective and natural way to manage rehabilitation of soft tissue injuries.
Just like sports injuries or any other injuries massage therapy can effectively correct the imbalance of shorten, torn, tight muscle groups. Nerve bundles within the muscle fibers and cells respond to trauma creating pain which leads to dysfunction and compensation. By addressing the muscles and their attachment sites (where they connect) you effectively manage, correct and restore the imbalance in the muscles.
Fibromyalgia is impacted by restricted fascia. The fascia is a part of the muscular system. It is the sheath,or covering of the muscles that stretch, bind and hold tissue together. With myofascial release therapy, the fascia is stretched, restoring it to a more natural, elastic state.
As in orthopedic massage, knees like any another joint, can have an impact of repetitive strain, injury, poor posture and imbalance that can effect the function and integrity of the joint. Massage therapy is helpful to rehabilitate lost function, pain and imbalance to the joint by manipulation and mobilizing the surrounding tissues.
Massage therapy is a natural and effective means to restore balance in the muscle groups throughout the spine, as well as decompress painful joints. Muscle groups shorten, due to prolonged poor posture or repetitive motion. Shortened muscle groups need to be stretched out or they will pull bones onto nerves and blood vessels, which can create other orthopedic conditions.
